Got some questions about hosting your next intimate celebration at Chapel 1885? We’ve answered some of our most commonly asked questions below:

 

1. What are the venue inclusions?

You’ll get exclusive use of the venue including a couples suite, welcome foyer and powder room. 

We also include:
–  Signing table and chairs
–  6 x timber rectangle dining tables
–  76 x black and rattan dining chairs
–  8 x timber top bar tables and stools
–  3 x black bar tables and stools
–  Cake table
–  Full heating and cooling
–  Use of inbuilt AV equipment
–  Two wireless microphones

 

2. What is Chapel 1885’s capacity?

Chapel 1885 can host:
–  100 guests at a cocktail event with room
    for a dance floor
–  70 guests at a seated event with room
    for a dance floor

 

3. How do our guests get there?

Chapel 1885 is located at 25 Sackville Street, Collingwood, VIC, 3066. There is some on-street parking but carpooling is recommended. Public transport is available via tram and bus on Smith Street/Johnston Street.

 

4. How do we meet the minimum spend?

Once you’ve chosen the package that suits you best and confirmed your event numbers, the team will provide you with a final quote. Our minimum spends are calculated based on event date, timings and package selection. Venue hire is included in the quote.

 

5. Can I include other Nudo brands in my quote? 

Yes you can. Our team will collaborate with you to establish the best brands to work with to ensure your event objectives are met. This may involve a custom quote to include planning, styling, floristry, design, stationery and signage, or photography and videography.

This is very flexible and is tailored to your individual requirements from our following experience brands:

6. Can we use an external caterer or BYO alcohol?

Our in-house caterer specialises in event dining experiences and your custom catering quote goes towards your minimum spend. If you would like to use an external caterer for cultural reasons, you can do so as long as the minimum spend is met. Please let us know so we can build this into your custom proposal after the walkthrough of our venue. We allow small amounts of BYO alcohol in addition to our catering packages, you can chat with our team about how this works.

 

7. How do we meet the minimum spend?

Once you’ve decided on your favourite Nudo venue and chosen your preferred catering package, the team will talk you through approximate spends across planning, styling, floristry, design, stationery and signage, and photography and videography to meet the minimum spend of your venue (if required).

This is completely bespoke to you and your individual needs and requirements and can be selected from our following experience brands:

8. What does our journey look like if we book a Planner and Stylist from The Goodsmiths?

Our Planners and Stylists from The Goodsmiths curate your unique event experience. They build your dream day covering off the administrative aspects, while also transforming Chapel 1885 to a space that reflects your love story. The team removes the admin burden delivering a completely seamless event that looks like your Pinterest dreams.

Initially you will be introduced to our planning team. Next, you’ll meet your Planner (12 months out from your event date or immediately if the event is within a year) and they will manage all of your event vendors, custom budget, as well as runsheets and event logistics. This means you can sit back and enjoy the fun stuff. Think of them as your event architects, building your dream event from start to finish.

 

9. What does it look like if we do not book a Planner from The Goodsmiths?

If you decide not to include planning in your custom quote, this means you are opting to plan your big day yourself. You will receive an introductory email from our venue team with everything you need to know and other documents to help you on your way. You will have one meeting which is held three (3) months out from your date to go over all questions and catering details.

 

10. Can we do our own styling?

The Goodsmiths team come highly recommended. You are able to include their styling services in your custom quote and it goes toward your minimum spend. Alternatively, you can use your own stylist.

 

11. If we decide to work with Anatomy of Flowers for our event at Chapel 1885, can we customise the flower process to our preferences? 

Absolutely. Anatomy of Flowers will collaborate with you to understand your vision, preferences, and desired colour scheme, and then present options to ensure that your florals are entirely customised to reflect your unique style and taste. You can rest assured that your florals will be completely bespoke and uniquely tailored to your event.

 

12. What if we need to modify our custom quote for our event at Chapel 1885 after paying the deposit? 

You can absolutely make changes as long as you still meet the minimum spend requirement for your chosen event date. If you have opted for planning and styling services, those will be locked in at the time of your booking to ensure that you are matched with the right team and enjoy a seamless planning journey. However, any other aspects of your quote can be modified and adjusted as needed during the planning process.

 

Wedding FAQs

 

1. How long do we have the venue for?

Your package selection (e.g. catering package, if your ceremony is onsite etc.) will ascertain the amount of hours you have access to your venue. Your booking duration is inclusive of two (2) hours for set up and one (1) hour pack down. The below are examples of full allocations.

Morning bookings are generally allocated between 7.00am-1.00pm.

This includes two (2) hours for set up, event start time of 9.00am, event conclusion at 12.00pm and event pack down complete by 1.00pm.

Morning events are ideal for corporate breakfasts, half day workshops or wedding ceremonies.


Evening bookings
are generally allocated between 2.00pm-12.00am.

This includes two (2) hours for set up, event start time of 4.00pm, event conclusion at 11.00pm and event pack down complete by 12.00am.

Perfect for weddings, end of year functions or corporate events.

 

2. How does an event usually run?

The following is indicative only of how an evening event might run, however timings are dependent on your selected catering package, and other factors. Chat to our team if you have any questions about timing or have a strict schedule you’d like to stick to.

Corporate & Functions FAQs

 

1. How long do we have the venue for?

Your package selection (e.g. half day or full day delegate, etc.) will ascertain the amount of hours you have access to your event at Chapel 1885. Your booking duration is inclusive of one hour set up and one hour pack down. The below are examples of full allocations.

Morning bookings are generally allocated between 7.00am-1.00pm.
This includes one (1) hour for set up, event start time of 8.00am, event conclusion at 12.00pm and event pack down complete by 1.00pm.
Morning sessions are ideal for corporate breakfasts, half day workshops or charity brunches.

Afternoon bookings are generally allocated between 1.00pm-6.00pm.

This includes one (1) hour for set up, event start time of 1.00pm, event conclusion at 5.00pm and event pack down complete by 6.00pm.
Afternoon booking are ideal for team building, product launches or workshops.

Full day bookings are generally allocated between 8.00am-6.00pm
This includes one (1) hour for set up, event start time of 9.00am, event conclusion at 5.00pm and event pack down complete by 6.00pm
Full day event packages are best for a full day of planning, an annual review, or a training session

 

2. What can I expect on the day of my event?
The following is a sample run sheet of how a half day event might be timed.  Timings are however entirely dependent on your selected catering package and other factors. Reach out to our team if you have any questions about the timing of your event.

Can I add in Nudo experiences? 

Of course. Our team will work with you to establish what brands you should work with to meet your requirements. This may involve a custom quote to include planning, styling, floristry, design, stationery and signage, or photography and videography.
